rise.global is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

What data we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • name and job title
  • contact information including email address and cell phone number
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers
  • social profile information
  • social data network permissions
  • business data application permissions
  • your business address and IP address
  • web analytics
  • email analytics

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Provide the rise.global service to create, display and transmit online Scorebooks, Player profiles, scores and score histories
  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services for example optimising the service based on web and email analytics.
  • Share web and email analytics with Scorebook administrators so they may in turn optimise their Scorebook service.
  • We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail. We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.

Who owns the data?

rise.global provides its service for both Administrators (people who create and manage scorebooks) and Players (people who participate in scorebooks).

rise.global is a data news platform so we work to ensure the data privacy needs of both Players and Administrators are protected, as well as retaining published bulletins in the public interest. As such different data items are controlled by the two different user types as follows:

Players control their profile, their name, their profile image, social network identities, their social network permissions, their email address. They may authorize some or all of these for use on a per scorebook basis.

Administrators control the scorebook name, description, look and feel, scoring calculation, player list and bulletin history (including score totals for each variable).

For privacy purposes rise.global takes the view that score entries are ultimately controlled by the player (eg. an individual tweet) while recognising that in many cases it is the administrator who enters scores on behalf of the player. A administrator may decide not to allow a particular score entry to be assigned points (e.g. an irrelevant or offensive tweet) while the player may decide to remove that score entry (e.g. the tweet) from consideration altogether.

rise.global only exercises a right to the data collected in order to provide its service to both administrators and players through the rise.global site and associated applications. rise.global may use de-identified or derived data for marketing purposes for example to report the number of users accessing the platform.

Deleting your data

You may delete your data at any time by deleting your scorebook via Scorebook Settings. This will remove your Player list, all Data Entries and all Bulletins. This action will delete any orphaned Player accounts not associated with a different Scorebook or linked with a claimed Rise profile of another user.

Closing your rise.global account

At any time you may close your rise.global account by deactivating your account via your rise.global profile.

When you close your account we will:

  • opt your account out of any future scorebook bulletins
  • delete any data entries associated with your account
  • prevent you being added to any new scorebooks.

Note that previous bulletins of scorebooks you have been on will be retained on behalf of the administrator (see who owns the data above).

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Platform data and privacy

For each platform account you connect your rise.global account to, we will collect information on your behalf. This information may be cached on rise.global to allow us to generate a Bulletin for you. It will be deleted automatically after 92 days or, if you choose, you can delete the data, or the Scorebook admin can delete your data. If you choose to opt-out of the Scorebook or you are excluded then all platform data will be removed.

You can disconnect any platform account from your rise.global account at any time. This will automatically remove platform data from your rise account (for example your Profile Image) and stop any further platform data being collected on your behalf using your platform credentials (for example your tweets).
